Jump Rope is fun!
There is nothing better than jumping rope to get your heart rate up and increase muscle strength and coordination.
Skipping is an activity fun for kids and adults, athletes and non-athletes alike. Not only is skipping fun, it's also an excellent calorie burner, increases bone density, builds agility and improves your brain function! It's a great training method for many other sports, from football to swimming, too.
At JDFA, you don't need any experience or athletic ability to start skipping with us! Give jump rope a try -- you might just love it!
COMPETITIVE Jump Rope Team
We want you! We are going into our 4th season as the only competitive jump rope team in Halton!
Come and be a part of our start up. All you need is enthusiam and the desire to practice. Our competitive jump rope team will meet one,two or three nights a week to practice various skills to prepare for two annual rope skipping competitions and also compete at the National level.
We will work individually, with partners, in small groups and large teams to create competitive entries for The Ontario Skipping Organization competitions.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to get active and work with a team. We have a lot of fun and love working together to accomplish skipping routines that perform to impress.
Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can train 4 hours or 6 hours per week depending on your goals.
SKIPPING IS GOOD FOR YOU!
Skipping is not just good for your body but for your mind too! It's a great way to get fit and improve your overall health. Here are a few key benefits of jumping rope:
It's about the best calorie burning exercise out there
Increase Bone Density
Science suggests that jumping rope is one of the best methods of building bone density!
Build Agility & Quickness
Skipping rope improves your balance and quickness by making your mind focus on your feet for sustained periods of time. You become more agile and coordinated over time and your balance improves too.
Improve Your Brain
We all know that exercise is good for our brain but it turns out that exercise that involves the brain and body (like ballroom dancing or jumping rope) is even better than exercise alone!
